National football team’s Dutch coach Lodewijk de Kruif blasted the Bangladesh Football Federation over his unpaid wages for six months. In a Facebook conversation with New Age, Kruif also accused the BFF of giving a false statement over his wages. ‘I’m always facing trouble with the BFF about my outstanding six months’ salary,’ said Kruif. ‘I heard that Sohag [BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem] told something to the media about paying me. He did pay three per cent of the unpaid salary! It’s a disgrace! Sorry.
‘They lied 100 per cent! Tell me…why should I lie? There is no reason and it’s not my culture as a national team coach to tell anyone a false story. Sohag is terrible and unbelievable,’ he added.
Kruif remained unpaid since January, making his future uncertain, though the BFF repeatedly said that they are trying to gather necessary funds.
Kruif and his assistant Rene Koster left Dhaka together on April 6. Though Koster returned to Dhaka, Kruif is still in his home. The Dutchman alleged that the BFF always did this thing with other foreign coaches.
‘It happened with all coaches before me, everybody knows that but this time they have to know that they must pay the salary,’ Kruid said.
