October 31 turned out to be a great day for heavy metal enthusiasts as Incursion Music featured its star studded bands in the Incursion Music Fest held at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture.
The line-up of the concert consisted of both new and well known bands. The eight bands that performed were Cryptic Fate, Metal Maze, Minerva, Parthibo, Echoes, Aushruto, Savagery and Painted Noise.The festival also featured stalls outside the auditorium that sold music CDs and merchandise of the participating bands.
The concert kicked off with Painted Noise as they performed three songs from their debut album. Next up was Savagery who well presented some cover songs.
Aushruto added a different dimension to the concert as their last song contained the first two lines of Bangladesh’s national anthem.
The two lines came up on multiple occasions in the number, which made the entire audience stand up to show respect to the national anthem.
After the newcomers, metal powerhouse Cryptic Fate rocked the stage with their popular songs like Bhorer Oppekha, Jatra and Cholo Bangladesh. Cryptic Fate’s vocalist Shakib Chowdhury’s energetic performance created a mosh-pit in front of the stage as fans started head banging to the music. Mehrab Chowdhury, a student of BRAC University and a Cryptic Fate fan told New Age, ‘I’m having an awesome time.’
Painted Noise’s debut album Ashar Srishti was launched at the event by Saadi Rahman, head of Incursion. Band members of Cryptic Fate and Metal Maze also got on stage for the launch as they handed a framed album cover of Ashar Srishti to Painted Noise.
Parthibo, Echoes, Minerva and Metal Maze also enthralled the audience with their performances.
The first 30 e-ticket buyers of the event were given free Incursion tee shirts.
