Different cultural organisations celebrated the 44th Victory Day through colourful programmes across the country on Tuesday. As part of Bangladesh Shilpakala’s 13-day Victory Day celebrations programme, the academy organised a special show featuring a collage of music and recitations performed by the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artistes at the National Theatre Hall of the academy on Tuesday. Dance troupe Sapandan presented a colourful dance recital, and noted singers like Subir Nandi, Sujit Mostafa, Shakila Zafar, Sujit Mostafa and others presented different genres of songs. Poet Nirmalendu Goon, Hasan Imam and others recited poems on the war.
The academy also organsied a film screening session at the Music and Dance Centre of academy where a documentary on the Victory Day celebrations in 1973 and Humayun Ahmed’s famous film on the war Aguner Poroshmoni were screened.
As part of its week-long Victory Day celebrations, Sammilito Sangskritik Jote organised special programmes on Tuesday at 10 different venues across the capital including Central Shaheed Minar, Rabindrosarobar, Rayer Bazar Baddhobhumi, Swaparjito Swadhinota Chattar, Suhrawardy Udyan, Mirpur Muktabedi in Mirput 10, Shahid Smrity Primary School in Mirpur 1, Barnomala School and College in Donia, Rabindrosaroni in Uttara and Bahadur Shah Park in old town.
