Banned Sheikh Jamal Dhanmoni Club coach Maruful Haque could be allowed to sit in the dugout during their friendly against K-league side Busan I’Park on December 27, an official of the Bangladesh Football Federation said on Saturday. Maruf is serving a six-month suspension for his outburst against the BFF officials during the last Bangladesh Premier League. The ban will end on February 23, but BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag said that there is a chance that his ban could be lifted before the Busan game.
‘There is a positive sentiment in the BFF over Maruful,’ he said.
‘So there is a chance that we may allow him in the dugout during the Busan game. The BFF secretary, however, did not make it clear if they will lift his ban or give him a special permission for the game which is a mere friendly.
Maruf said that he is not too much worried about his ban rather he is busy with chalking out his plans for the game.
‘I have watched the video footages’ of Busan I’Park. We all know that the standard of K-League is very high and they are a top dog there,’ said Maruf.
‘I would like that my team gain some valuable experiences by playing against them,’ he said.
Maruf saw his 11 players, who played for national team in a friendly against Japan Under-21 team on December 18, joined the camp on Saturday for the Busan game.
The Bangladesh Football Federation chose Jamal to play against Busan I’Park following a request from the Korea Football Association.
The Korean club are expected to arrive in Dhaka on December 25.
Chung Mong Gyu, the president of KFA, is among the dignitaries who will join the team during the short visit.
