Four cricketers of Biman Bangladesh Airlines were injured when blockaders threw brickbats on their rented bus while returning to Dhaka after a Second Division Cricket League match at the BKSP on Tuesday. Assistant coach Hasanuzzaman said they came under attack at Hemayetpur area under Savar as blockaders pelted brickbats on the running bus. Wicketkeeper Jewel suffered injury in his leg while batsman Rana was injured on the neck.
Batsmen Happy and Dipu cut their faces as the glasses of broken windshield hit them.
All four cricketers were given primary treatment.
Biman, once a giant in local cricket, have been relegated to the second division last season after authorities failed to provide enough fund for the team.
They beat Dhanmondi Cricket Academy by six wickets in their Tuesday’s match.
