National team winger Zahid Hossain is all set to miss the upcoming season after he failed to reach an amicable solution with Mohammedan Sporting Club over a transfer dispute. Zahid was handed a one-year global transfer ban by the Bangladesh Football Federation on January 6 after Mohammedan Sporting Club lodged a complaint against him on August 25. Mohammedan alleged that the midfielder refused to play for them most of the time of the last season.
The BFF asked the player to return half of the payments that he received from Mohammedan last season to facilitate his move to another club.
Sheikh Russell Krira Chakra submitted his registration form to the BFF for the next season but in all likelihood it could be rejected as he could not resolve the matter with Mohammedan.
The deadline for inter-club players’ transfer ended on January 30.
