Board of Control for Cricket in India on Thursday announced that they will host Bangladesh for a one-off Test series in the upcoming season at Hyderabad, though it did not give any date.
Bangladesh Cricket Board source said the match could be held in February as there is no other slot available when both the teams are free. They are originally scheduled to play against Bangladesh in August this year.
It will be first ever Test in India for Tigers since they were given the status of full member in 2000.
India is the only ICC full member country who is yet to host Bangladesh for any Test series so far.
The BCCI also announced that Rajkot, Visakhapatnam, Pune, Dharamsala, Ranchi and Indore will debut as Test venues in India’s 2016-17 home season, which will include series against New Zealand, England, Australia and Bangladesh.
