“Our stock market is getting a better shape day-by-day and the regulatory bodies should come up with certain measures to make it a vibrant one. The regulatory bodies should also monitor the stock market activities.” Speakers opined at the inaugural ceremony of Chittagong Stock Exchange CSE’s new office at Sylhet.
CSE President, Nasiruddin Ahmed Chowdhury inaugurated the new office formally at its own premises, Anada Tower, North Dhupadighir Par recently.
Fakhor Uddin Ali Ahmed-Vice President was presided over the meeting while other directors of CSE, Al Maruf Khan, Vice President, ASM Shahidullah, Bijan Chakroborty, M.K.M. Mohiuddin, Mohammad Fakhruddin, Md. Siddiqur Rahman and Tareq Kamal were present.
CSE President said, “CSE pioneered and devised many new infrastructures for the betterment of Bangladesh Capital Market such as Automated Trading System, Internet Trading Service, draft bill of CDBL to the parliament, Book Building Method, OTC market, Talk Show, Securities Institute, Regional trading expansion, Independent Secretariat, formation of South Asian Federation of Stock Exchanges (SAFE) etc.”
He said that investors are reaping benefit through our initiatives and more facilities are coming soon such as introduction of Derivatives trading, Borrowing and Lending etc for our investors through our skilled human recourses so that market depth accelerated in a transparent way.
Professor Abu Ahmed, Director CSE was also present in the occasion and participated in a seminar organized by CSE for the general investors in Sylhet on the occasion of new branch opening ceremony.
He hoped that no more scam will be happened like 1996 when the country’s stock market witnessed a bubble and bust.”
He said, “Several lakhs of non-resident Bangladeshis living in the UK, the USA and other countries have been contributing greatly to national economy through sending remittances on a regular basis.
Yet three are scopes of investment in the country’s stock market and the Bangladeshi expatriates can take the opportunity that will develop the stock market.”
Among others CSE’s MKM Mohiuddin, Director & former President, Al Maruf Khan-Vice President, Md. Siddiqur Rahman also spoke in the seminar.
