Bangladesh ‘A’ team ended their India tour with a humiliating innings and 32-run defeat to India ‘A’ in their final three-day match in Bangalore on Tuesday.
The visitors survived just 39.4 overs in their second innings and got out for 151 runs after another horrible batting display. Skipper Mominul Haque and Liton Das could only show some resistance after they resumed third day’s play on 36-2.
Mominul made highest 54 runs, his only half-century in the tour while Liton added 38 when Bangladesh needed 183 runs in their second innings to make India ‘A’ bat again.
Mominul and Liton took the score to 82 before Liton’s dismissal triggered a collapse.
First Innings centurion Sabbir Rahman could survive just two balls and got out in the same score to become the second wicket of the medium pacer Ishwar Pandey’s over, the 20th of the innings.
Just three overs later visitors lost two more wickets at the same score of 87 when Nasir Hossain and Shuvagata Hom got out for one and zero respectively from the bowling of Abhimanyu Mithun, another right handed seamer.
Mominul made a 33-run sixth wicket partnership with Saqlain Sajib before he left the crease.
Saqlain made 21 runs but that could only delay the inevitable. Bangladesh ‘A’ innings ended with the dismissal of Jubair Hossain as last man Rubel Hossain was unable to turn up due to injury.
Pandey and Jayant Yadav picked up three wickets each while Mithun got two wickets and Rabindra Jadeja grabbed one wicket.
Bangladesh ‘A’ also lost their previous three-day match against Karnataka by four-wicket and suffered 2-1 defeat in the preceding one-day series to India ‘A’.
