Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been coaxed to make her comeback by none other than her husband Abhishek Bachchan.
Story goes that, close friend and director Sanjay Gupta shared a story he was planning to make with Abhishek Bachchan. Abhishek loved the script and asked Sanjay who he had in mind for the lead. Sanjay expressed his desire to cast Aishwarya. It was apparently then that Abhishek convinced Aishwarya to take up the project. Subsequently, they met and the deal was struck.
Next, Aishwarya announced the film at Cannes International Film Festival. The edge-of-the-seat thriller also stars Irrfan and John Abraham. Lookout for senior actress to play the fourth lead is still on. Jazbaa, Aishwarya’s comeback film, goes on floor in January 2015.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2010 film, Guzaarish. But, the rumour mills have now been put to rest with director Sanjay Gupta’s action thriller, Jazbaa. Sanjay Gupta confirmed the news and said, ‘Yes, it’s true. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will play the dynamic female lead in my action thriller, Jazbaa.’
Aishwarya will be seen essaying the role of the lead protagonist. ‘The female lead character is the hero of my film. The role is extremely powerful and the project couldn’t have taken off with just about anyone. It required a larger-than-life brand, a big personality and no one can fit the bill better than Aishwarya’ said Gupta.
