The two-member Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) delegation will brief the Commission on the outcome of their visit to Canada on Padma bridge corruption conspiracy on Sunday.
Neither the Commission high-ups nor the delegation members agreed to disclose anything about the progress of the investigation after the return of the delegation from Canada. ACC legal adviser Advocate Anisul Haque, also head of delegation, returned home from Canada on Friday morning. When contacted, he preferred not to make any comment on the outcome of the visit.
Earlier on May 26, ACC deputy director Mirza Zahidul Alam returned home from Canada, while the team leader came back later.
The two-member delegation went to Canada on May 19 to continue investigation into the Padma bridge scam.
When Mirza Zahidul Islam returned, the ACC officials said, the progress of investigation would be known after the return of Anisul Haque.
Sources even claimed that Mirza Zahidul had come back with empty hand.
Talking to The Independent, ACC chairman Ghulam Rahman said, he came to know that the delegation would meet the Commission on Sunday. He expressed his optimism about progress made by the delegation during the investigation in Canada.
The ACC chief, however, said that complete success might not be achieved at a time.
