The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned former State Minister for Housing and Public Works Alamgir Kabir for an interrogation into his alleged involvement with the misappropriation of around Tk 40 crore. The commission on Monday sent a notice to Alamgir Kabir, also a leader of opposition BNP, asking him to appear before it on September 29 to face interrogation. An ACC official told The Independent that the former state minister allegedly embezzled the amount by allocating government plots to Dhaka Union of Journalists’ (DUJ) Housing Development Co-operative Society Limited by misusing his power in 2006.
ACC Dhaka District-2 office’s Assistant Director Jatan Kumer Roy issued the notice, according to sources.
