The golden jubilee of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) was celebrated with due festivity and elaborate programmers on its campus yesterday, says a BAU press release.
Marking the 50th founding anniversary, the BAU authorities chalked out a day long programme including hosting of national and university flags, colourful rally, tree plantation, seminar, farmers’ gathering and inauguration of fish museum on the campus.
“Power of Food, Freedom through Agriculture” was the main theme of the occasion.
Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury was present at the inaugural session while Fisheries and Livestock Minster Abdul Latif Biswas, State Minster for Health and Family Welfare Mujibur Rahman Fakir and State Minster for Cultural Affairs Promode Mankin, were also present at the programme.
BAU Vice-Chancellor Prof MA Sattar Mandal presided over the programme while Student Affairs Advisor Prof Mustafizur Rahman and BAU Register Md Nazibur Rahman addressed.
Prof MA Sattar presented a keynote paper on “BAU Achievement and Vision”.
