Ajax Sporting Club registered their opening victory in the Green Delta Insurance Premier Division Hockey League when they defeated Dhaka Wanderers Club 3-1 on Monday at Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium. Rahat Sarwar scored the first goal for Ajax after which Jahidul Islam Rajon netted a brace to put his side 3-0 up. Rajon scored in the ninth and 50th minute.Shamim Mia reduced the margin for Dhaka Wanderers in the 52nd minute.
Ajax are now third in the standings with four points from four matches while Dhaka Wanderers are languishing at the bottom with one point from the same number of matches.
