A better co-ordination is required between standing committees of the Bangladesh Cricket Board in order to take the game forward, said Akram Khan, the new chairman of the cricket operations committee of the BCB, on Sunday. A lack of communication between the standing committees had often been exposed preventing the cricket operations committee to implement all their plans in mind and field the best possible team without neglecting any domestic commitments.
‘We need to develop a better co-ordination between the tournament and development committees,’ Akram told
reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Sunday.
‘If that is assured we can deliver a better performance,’ he said.
‘There were problems earlier like the time when the England A team and the West Indies Academy side arrived we could not field our best possible side as there was domestic cricket going on during that time.
‘We need to develop such a co-ordination which will not hamper the domestic schedule and all our national players can participate in it,’ added the Chittagonian.
The former national skipper and chief selector said that he was looking forward to secure maximum comfort for the players upon becoming the chairman of the cricket operations committee.
‘We need to judge the players in totality and not just when he is performing,’ said Akram.
‘It is one of our major aims to give them their due credit even when he is a bit low,’ he added.
