The ruling Awami League on Monday published the list of its 36 women candidates for women’s reserved seats in parliament, including two from allied parties and two others from the families of army officers slain in the February 25-26 BDR rebellion.
The AL announced the names of its women candidates for reserved JS seats and distributed confirmation letters among them from the party chief Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi office.
The party picked up the 36 candidates from 779 aspirants who had collected party nomination forms.
The candidates have been asked to collect nomination forms from the party’s Dhanmondi office before 12:00pm today. They will have to submit the forms on Wednesday with treasury challan of Tk 10,000. According to Election Commission’s revised schedule for elections to women’s reserved seats, nomination submission closes on March 12.
