All four matches of the National Cricket League fourth round match are heading for a day when two centuries were scored on the third day in separate venues on Sunday.
In the rain-hit match Bogra, where rain ate up more than one day’s play take an edge over Sylhet thanks to the fifth first-class century of Mizanur Rahman.After bowling out Sylhet for 221 runs, Rajshahi scored 279-3 as Mizanur shared 197-run with Junaed Siddique for the third wicket at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium,
In the upper tier at Rajshahi, Jahid Javed struck 115, his maiden hundred, which propelled Rangpur to 317-9 before they declared their innings.
In Chittagong, Dhaka Metropolitan reduced hosts Chittagong to 216-8 after declaring their first innings on 369-9 on the previous day.
In Khulna, Dhaka conceded 49-run lead against Barisal but wiped out the deficit to reach 110-3 before they enter into final day’s play.
Rajshahi v Sylhet
Sylhet resumed the day precariously at 95-6 but managed to score 221 in their first innings thanks to efforts from their lower-order batsmen, led by Abul Hasan, who scored 60 and shared 79-run stand with Abu Jayed (37)
Pace bowler Delwar Hossain picked 4-72 for Rajshahi but he was overshadowed by Mizanur later in the day as the opener smashed 143 off 169 balls with 24 fours and a six to give Rajshahi the vital first innings lead.
Junaed gave him company in their big stand to stay unbeaten on 82.
Khulna v Rangpur
Jahid struck 115 off 217 balls, catapulting Rangpur to 317-9 in their first innings for 99-run first innings lead.
Khulna reached 22-0 at stumps to keep their hopes of saving the game alive with all 10 wickets intact in the second innings.
Dhaka v Barisal
Nuruzzaman hit 68 runs while Shamsul Islam added an unbeaten 56 as Barisal added 98 runs to their overnight 201-6 to score 299, taking a 49-run first innings lead as spinner Shuvagata Hom picked four wickets for 62 runs for Dhaka.
A 57-run partnership between Roqibul Hassan (39) and Rony Talukdar (28) helped Dhaka reach 110-3 to go in front at stumps.
Dhaka Metro v Chittagong
Replying to Metro’s 369-9, Chittagong resumed third day’s play on 44-1 but lost both of their overnight unbeaten batsmen Sadikur Rahman and Iftekhar Sazzad inside the first three overs of the morning.
Sazzadul Haque made 59 and Mahbubul Karim added 40 to help them past 200-run mark before stumps.
Mohammad Ashraful picked up three wickets for 49 while Mohammad Shahid grabbed 2-55.
