Leading artistes of the country presented music, dance and poems in cultural shows organsied to observe the International Mother Language Day on Friday.
Bangladesh Shilapkala Academy organised a two-day programme on the premises of the academy when Bangla Academy organised a
special programme at the academy.
Chhayanaut observed the International Mother Language Day organising a programme in Keraniganj, where the organisation plans to install a new building. Sammilito Sangskritik Jote’s weeklong Amar Ekushey celebrations programme ended at the Rabindrasobar in Dhanmondi.
Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre also organised a recitation show in Gulshan marking the Amar Ekushey.
The two-day programme at Shilpakala Academy began with the chorus presentation of Amar Bhai-er Rakte Rangano, the signature song of the Amar Ejueshy, by the artistes of the academy.
Noted singer Kiran Chandra Roy moved the audience presenting a song on Ekushey titled Dhaka Shahar Rakte Rangailo. The viewers also danced with the song presented in Kiran’s stentorian vocal recital.
Popular singer Shakila Zafar received loud applause for her presentation of the patriotic song Amar Bangladesh.
Dancer Warda Rihab presented a brilliant recital synchronised with a popular people’s song Amar Protibader Bhasa. Dancers of Sapndan staged a spectacular dance piece with a popular song on Ekushey titled Rakta Shimul Tapta Palash.
Moreover, a few Russian artistes presented a Russian patriotic song in the International Mother Language Day observation programme.
Artistes of People’s Theatre presented choreography with an instrumental production, complied with the parts of different foreign patriotic songs.
Different cultural organisations such as Dhaka Sangskritik Sanghtan, Ranata Shilpy Gosthi and Ganasangeet Sanghatan presented songs in chorus on the second day’s programme at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
Moreover, solo singers like Tapan Chowdhury, Anima Mukti Gomes, Abu Bakar Siddique presented different genres of songs highlighting the spirit of the Language movement on Saturday.
Young poets presented their self-composed poems on February 21 at the Bangla Academy. Noted poet Habibulliah Siraji presided over the recitation session which was followed by music presented by Wrishijo Shilpi Goshthi, and SM Afzal Hossain and his troupe in chorus.
Noted singers like Kalyani Ghosh, Abdul Jabbar, Fakir Alamgir and others rendered patriotic and people’s songs at the programme.
Chhayanaut’s programme began with a chorus presentation of Tagore song Jey Tomay Chhare Chharuk by the child artistes of Keraniganj. Chhayanut artistes presented a music production titled Bangalir Mukti Sangram featuring movements in the history of Bangalee nation through relevant songs such as Hey Samalo Dhan Gow, Amar Bhai-er Rakte Rangano, Bhulbona Bhulbona, Phul Khelbar Din Noy Adya and Amader Mathar Porey.
At the concluding session of the Sammilito Sangskritik Jote’s weeklong Amar Ekushey observation programme, artistes of Swabhumi Writers and Artists Forum performed.
Artistes of Satyen Sen Shilpy Goshthi presented songs such as Bhulbona Bhulbona and Amo Kunje Polashero Kunje in chorus when dancer Sultana Afroze Sukanya presented a solo dance recital synchronised with the song O Amar Barnomala.
Three noted recitation artistes including Jayanto Chattopadhayay, Rana Thakur and Dahlia Ahmed presented poems of Amar Ekushey at the programme titled Ami Tomaey Bhalobashi organised by Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre in Gulsha.
Jayanto Chattopadhayay recited several poems including Kazi Nazrul Islam’s Basonti, Jasimuddin’ Ekusher Gaan, Sufia Kamal’s Ashchorjo Emon Din and Asad Chowdhury’s Phagun Elei.
Dahlia Ahmed recited the English versions of the poems those were presented by Jayanto.
Rana Thakur recited Jalaluddin Rumi’s Persian poem Aeshq and the English version of Syed Shamsul Haq’s poem Eso Chiniye Ni Amader Swadhinata.
