Tickets for the Argentina-Nigeria International friendly match scheduled for September 6 went on sale yesterday at eight branches of IFIC Bank in the capital yesterday. However the sale of tickets did not gather much pace on the opening day as around 250 tickets of the allotted 11000 were sold. Those tickets were of both the Eastern and Western Galleries priced at Tk 7500 and Tk 10000 respectively.
Among those buying the tickets on the first day was Prince Shikder, a trader form Motijheel, who bought two tickets of the Eastern gallery priced at Tk 7500 each.
“This is a lifetime opportunity which I did not want to miss. My friends will also but tickets for the match,” said Prince as he came out of the Motijheel branch of the bank, holding his two tickets.
More than 40 tickets were sold at this branch yesterday, while 25 were sold at Dhanmondi, 36 at Gulshan, 45 at Mirpur, 12 at Islampur, 60 at Uttara, 13 at Kawran Bazar and an unconfirmed number at Bashundhara branch.
Only the tickets of the Eastern and Western Galleries will be up for the general spectators, while the rest of the tickets of the other galleries like the presidents box, hospitality box and VIP gallery will be sold through the BFF.
According to the football governing body, the BNS has a capacity of 23499 spectators for the Argentina-Nigeria match, excluding the capacity of the VVIP box, situated over the press box.
