A female professor of an Argentine university was mugged near Fakirapul Water Tank in the city yesterday morning.
Professor Anatilde Ltoya, 60, was injured when two muggers snatched her bag with her passport, Euro 1000, US $ 2000 and Tk 10,000.
Anatilde came to Bangladesh to deliver a lecture on climate change at Rajshahi University on December 7 and December 9.
Inspector Sheikh Sirajul Islam of Paltan Police Station said in the case, Anatilde mentioned that she was going to Kamalapur Railway Station in a rickshaw along with a Bangladeshi student at around 9:00am. When she reached near the Fakirerpul Water Tank, two muggers in a car snatched her bag.
She fell down on the street during the incident and got injured, he said.
