Cultural organisation Chhayanaut Sangskritik Kendra welcomed the month of autumn by arranging a colourful programme at the early morning of Friday held at the Bakultala of Faculty of Fine Art of Dhaka University.
The programme featured Nobel Laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore’s timeless songs synchronised with dance recitals upholding the beauty of autumn. The students and teachers of Chhayanaut beautifully presented the songs and dance pieces expressing different attributes of the season such as translucent skies, green leaves, new flowers and many others.
The stage was decorated with Kashphul which symbolises the emergence of autumn. Moreover, the artistes’ attires had sky blue, white, orange and green colours that represented the freshness of the season adding vibrancy to the programme.
The programme began with chorus rendition of Tagore’s song Biswabina robey biswa jon mohichhe that narrates the beauty of the season. The programme was dominated by a good number of chorus presentations sung by both elder and young artistes of Chhayanaut.
They presented enduring songs like Amra bedhechhi kasher guchchha, Nabobrinda dhaba dal sushital, Aj dhaner khete roudro chhayay and others. Groups danced in sync with chorus recitals of the songs Aji prothom juger pabo prosadkhani, Sharatey aj kon otithi and Megher koley rod heshechhe which entertained the audience.
Sukanta Chakraborty, Mohua Monjori, Shukla Pal Shetu, Momi Monjuri Chowdhury, Deepanjan Mukherjee, Shemanti Manjuri among others also caught the audience’s attention with their solo song renditions at the programme. They rendered Tagore songs Amar rat pohalo, Sakarun benu bajaye ke jai, Amar moner majhe je gan bajey, Helaphela sarabela, Aji sharat tapaney probhat swapaney, Tobu money rekho.
OIshi Rubaina and Hridiya Tehrin Proma presented the song Kon khepa Shrabon chute elo in duet.
The programme was wrapped up with the rendition of National Anthem.
