Bangladesh Accreditation Board has attained full capacity to award accreditation certificates in favour of testing laboratory and calibration laboratory, officials said on Tuesday.
They said these two types of laboratories would no longer require certificates from foreign institutions, which will help entrepreneurs get accreditation certificates quickly with reduced costs.
This was said at a certificate distributing ceremony held at the National Productivity Organisation conference room in the city.
Industries minister Dilip Barua attended the function as the chief guest while state minister for industries Omar Faruk was a special guest.
BAB director general Mohammad Abu Abdullah and director Sudhakar Dutta also spoke at the function, chaired by industries secretary Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah.
Dilip Barua said the quality and standard of the products will have to be of international standard to boost export, which will help make Bangladesh industrially rich.
