Dream girl’ of Dhallywood’ Babita was honoured with lifetime achievement in her mid 50s in a colourful award giving ceremony on Sunday evening at Fair Park in Singapore in presence of thousands of Bangladeshi expatriates. Her peers like ‘Nayak Raj’ Razzak, renowned actor Faruk, and celebrities like Ferdaus, Purnima, Misha Sawdagar, Rizia Parveen, Mahfuz Ahmed, Chanchal Chowdhury, Nobel, Joya Ahsan and others performed in ‘Diamond World-Channel-i Best Performance Award 2011’ awarding ceremony.
Managing Director of Channel-i Faridur Reza Sagar and writer Rabeya Khatun and managing director of Diamond World Limited Dilip Kumar Agarwala handed over the award to Babita at the programme, said a press release.
The event became even more colourful one as celebrated singers like ‘nightingale of Bangladesh’ Sabina Yasmin, seasoned singer Syed Abdul Hadi, Bari Siddiqui, Monir Khan, Mehrin, Nagar Baul James and renowned folk singer Momtaz presented their popular songs.
In between the spectacular performances, the organisers announced ‘Diamond World-Channel-i Best Performance Award 2011’ in 15 categories.
Joya Ahsan got best actress award in both movie and TV play categories for her performance in the movie Guerrilla and TV play Choita Pagol. Emon got the best actor award for his performance in the movie Garments Konya. Film actress Purnima got ‘most discussed actress’ award for the movie Ora Amake Bhalo Hotey Dilo Naa while Chanchal Chowdhury got most discussed actor award for the movie Moner Manush.
Nasiruddin Yousuff got the best director award for his movie Guerrilla.
Monir Khan got best playback [male] singer award while Kanakchanpa won best playback [female] singer award for the movie Maayer Jonyo Pagol and Maa Aamar Chokher Moni respectively.
Mahfuz Ahmed got the best TV play director and actor awards for Choita Pagol. Tisha won the most discussed TV play actress award for Mukim Brothers while Nobel got most discussed TV play actor for Amader Chhoto Nadi.
Naim got best TVC model [male] award while Rakhi got best TVC model [female] award.
