Jaya Bachchan ruffled a few feather when she recently criticised her son Abhishek Bachchan’s film Happy New Year at a literature festival, reports India Today. Speaking at the event, the actor said, ‘HNY is the most nonsensical film I’ve seen in recent years. I said that to the film’s lead actor as well. I watched it only because Abhishek was part of it. I told him he’s a great actor if he can act stupid in front of the camera like that. I can’t be part of what is being done in films these days and hence I don’t do films anymore.’
Well, her words have not gone down well with all those associated with the film and the Bachchan clan is reportedly in a damage control mode.
Acoording to a report in Bollywood Life, Amitabh Bachchan has sent a text message to Shah Rukh apologising on his wife’s behalf. In the text, he apparently explained that her intention was not to hurt the sentiments of the film or its cast.
Also, Abhishek and Aishwarya reportedly went to Shah Rukh’s house to apologise to him directly but could not meet him as the actor was out of station.
