Shooter Abdullah Hel Baki became 25th among 50 participants in the 10metre Air Rifle of Olympic Games and was ruled out from the qualification round at the Olympic Shooting Center on Monday. Baki scored a total of 621.2, less than his best ever of 624.8 that he scored in the ISSF World Cup in Germany, May this year. Baki, who was given many opportunities to participate in the international competitions like ISSF World Cup in Rio and Munich earlier this year, failed to keep up his promise of performing his best.
The 27-year old shooter, who was under the guidance of Danish high performance coach Klavs Christenesen in the last few months, failed to make the final eight but his Indian counterpart, 2008 Beijing Olympic Games gold medalist Abhinav Bindra became seventh with 625.7.
Italian shooter Niccolo Campriani made a new world record scoring 630.2 points to complete the qualification round.
