Thai private owned airline Bangkok Airways will start flights on Dhaka-Bangkok route very soon, the localrepresentatives of the airline on Monday said.
A senior official of Jupiter Logistics, the Bangladesh representative of the airline, said that they were expecting the launching of the flights by the end of March.
‘We are completing procedures for attaining different permissions from the local authorities and expect that Bangkok Airways flights will be launched on the Dhaka-Bangkok route by the end of March,’ the official told New Age.
Earlier, vice-president of Bangkok Airways, Nandhika Varavan, disclosed that from March 27, the airline would operate seven flights a week on the route, using an Airbus A320 with 162 seats—all economy class.
The airline, established in 1989 and known as Asia’s Boutique Airline, Bangkok Airways has one and a half dozens of aircrafts in its fleet, expects the bulk of passengers will be Bangladeshi traders visiting Thailand, she added.
Jupiter officials, however, said medical and leisure tourists would also be their target passengers as they will offer exclusive and competitive packages.
