Canadian high commissioner in Bangladesh Heather Cruden on Sunday said Bangladesh was now facing a crisis of reputation due to political violence and

‘Bangladesh is having a crisis of reputation. But, it is not just reputation – these are serious issues that need to be addressed by all parties involved. The political parties need to clearly and publicly reject the use of political violence. Canada calls on them to engage help improve governance and fight corruption,’ Cruden said.
BB governor Atiur Rahman was present as chief guest at the programme and inaugurated the NCCB SureCash – a mobile financial service.

Nurul Amin said that a customer could open new account, deposit money or withdraw cash at any authorised SureCash agent or NCCB branch using the SureCash services.
A customer may also send money to another customer, receive salary or pay bills from his account using his own phone, without visiting any bank branch or agent, he said.
