Bangladesh chess team lost their ninth and final round match to Iran to finish seventh at the Asian Nations Cup Chess Championship 2016 at Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Tuesday.
Bangladesh lost to their Iranian counterparts 0-4 and ended the tournament with 10 points.
India became the unbeaten champion with 17 points while China became runners-up with 15 points in the tournament, where a total of 23 teams from 21 Asian countries took part.
The tournament was organised by the UAE Chess Federation under the auspices of the UAE Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Asian Chess Federation.
The event boasted 28 GMs, 10 IMs, 19 FIDE Masters and 3 Women FMs.
