Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company is a core telecommunications service provider and international submarine cable operator of Bangladesh. The service provided by BSCC represents the long-haul communication between Bangladesh and the rest of the world. Emerging in July 2008 as a public limited company under the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, BSCC operates and maintains Bangladesh’s submarine cable. BSCC is a party on behalf of Bangladesh in the SEA-ME-WE-4 (South East Asia-Middle East-Western Europe-4) submarine cable and represents the Nation in the SMW-4 international cable consortium. BSCC has become a member of the newly formed SMW-5 Consortium to join in the newly planned submarine cable which will provide more capacity and redundancy for Bangladesh. BSCC will soon start operations as IIG (International Internet Gateway) which should help the people to get broadband Internet with cheaper rate and better quality of service. BSCC is already in the stock market and one of the growing companies in the Telecom sector of the Country and is contributing to the revenue earning of the Government of Bangladesh. It is a leading company for implementation of National ILDTS & ICT policies to develop modern telenetwork and high speed Broadband Internet in Bangladesh. The submarine cable network is expected to be the main telecommunications infrastructure for ‘Digital Bangladesh’ by the year 2021. By providing high capacity fiber optic submarine cable bandwidth connecting the people of Bangladesh to the ‘Information Super Highway’, BSCC is going to play a major role.
Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company has been incorporated as a Public Limited Comapny with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies Bangladesh vide Registration No C-71845(4351)/08 dated 24th June 2008 under Companies Act 1994.

(Q3): As per un-audited quarterly accounts for the 3rd quarter ended on 31st March 2013 (Jan’13 to March’13), the Company has reported net profit after tax of Tk 219.52 million with EPS of Tk 1.68 as against Tk 144.94 million and Tk 1.11 respectively for the same period of the previous year. Whereas net profit after tax was Tk 719.29 million with EPS of Tk 5.52 for the period of nine months (July’12 to March’13) ended on 31.03.2013 as against Tk 402.29 million and Tk 3.09 respectively for the same period of the previous year.
