Asif Islam’s film “Nirvana” is gaining recognition at film festivals worldwide.
It won the Special Jury award at the Moscow International Film Festival.
The film also received an award at the Ganges-sur-Seine International Film Festival in France.
Now, “Nirvana” is set to make an impression in Kazakhstan.
It will be shown at the 7th Eurasia International Film Festival.
The festival runs from November 24 to December 1. “Nirvana” will be screened on November 25.
Asif Islam expressed surprise at the film’s selection for the competition section.
The festival will feature 11 films from 11 different countries.
“Nirvana” tells the story of three factory workers. One is a grieving mother, portrayed by Fatema Tuz Zohra Eva. Another is a woman dealing with heartbreak from a betrayal, played by Priyam Archi. The third character is a man, played by Imran Mahathir, who is facing challenges with his sexual identity.
Asif Islam is set to travel to Kazakhstan on November 23.
