Bangladesh’s FM Fahad Rahman moved up to fifth place in the Open Under-10 category at the World Youth Chess Championships in Al-Ain, UAE on Monday.
Fahad played to a 5-5 draw against Iran’s Mahan Saberi in the seventh round on Monday to move up from ninth place. He defeated Vietnam’s CM Duc Tri Ngo in the sixth round on Sunday.
Fahad is accompanied by his father Md. Nazrul Islam and is being sponsored by Computer Source, according to a Bangladesh Chess Federation press release. International arbiter Haroon-Or-Rashid is also at the event as an arbiter.
