Bangladesh Bank on Monday asked scheduled banks to install closed-circuit television cameras inside and outside of their branches to ensure proper security.
The BB issued a circular to managing directors and chief executive officers of all banks asking them to set up required number of CCTV camera, internet protocol camera, spy camera and digital video recorder at their branches.
The BB asked the banks to set up the cameras at the entry points, inside and outside of the branches.
A BB official told New Age on Monday that Sonali Bank and BRAC Bank had recently faced robbery incidents due to absence of proper security measures.
Following the incidents the BB asked all banks to take required security measures for their vaults.
Besides, the BB is now asking the banks to ensure the security measures of their branches along with the vaults to avoid further robbery attempt.
