Cabin tickets of both public and private sector motor vessels plying on Barisal-Dhaka-Barisal route have already been sold out before starting special trips for Eid.
About eighty per cent cabin tickets of Eid special private launch services, for five days both before and after Eid day, on Barisal–Dhaka-Barisal route have already been sold out keeping only twenty per cent of them reserved for VIP passengers, said Barisal Launch Owners’ Association sources.
Gopal Krishna Majumder, Deputy Director of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) said the booking for the first and second class passenger cabins of the steamers scheduled to ply on special service have already been completed.
Eid special services of private launches will be started from November 14 and public sector BIWTC steamer service from November 12 from Dhaka end and from November 14 from Barisal end.
About 13, 728 out of 17,160 cabin tickets of the launches for the 10 days have already been booked or sold and rest 3520 tickets also booked for VIPs, the sources said.
