BASIS to promote Bangladesh’s ICT industry in UK

The Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) is planning to hold a special event in London in June to promote the ICT industry of Bangladesh in the United Kingdom.
The development comes as BASIS President Russell T Ahmed met Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Saida Muna Tasneem at the Bangladesh High Commission in London recently.
Ahmed said that the BASIS is working hand-in-hand with the government to reach the goal of earning $5 billion in ICT exports by 2024 and $20 billion by 2031.
“In this regard, the UK is one of the most potential markets for exporters in the Bangladesh ICT sector,” he added.
Tasneem expressed her interest in supporting the ICT industry of Bangladesh.
She said that she is keen to assist BASIS in organising an event in London in June this year to promote the industry in the UK.
Besides, she is interested to take part in organising Business-to-Business (B2B) matchmaking sessions between Bangladeshi ICT companies and their UK counterparts.
