The final round of Dhaka Premier League first phase begins today with five teams vying for the four available slots in the Super League. Prime Bank Cricket Club and Abahani Limited have already qualified for the Super League, but battle for the other slots are all but intense.
Defending champions Legends of Rupganj, Kalabagan Cricket Academy, Prime Doleshwar, Mohammedan Sporting Club and Victoria Sporting Club all have some kind of chances provided they win their last round matches.
On the first day of the final round, Legends will face Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium and Prime Doleshwar will take on relegation threatened Partex Sporting Club at the BKSP.
Mohammedan will play against Kalabagan Krira Chakra at Fatullah in the other match of the day.
If all three contenders win their respective matches, they will progress alongside KCA on better head-to-head result and Victoria will be eliminated.
However, a defeat for any of the three teams will create a chance for Victoria, who will progress with a win against KCA the next day.
In another significant clash of the final round, table toppers Prime Bank Cricket Club will face Abahani Limited on Monday.
A win for Prime Bank will give them an edge in championship race as it will create a four-point gap for them with the nearest challengers.
