Issues set of guidelines
Bangladesh Bank on Monday asked scheduled banks to develop their training institutes’ infrastructure and quality in a bid to strengthen the manpower in the banking sector.
The BB issued a set of guidelines to managing directors and chief executive officers of all the banks. It asked them to develop the technological facility of their training centres as the institutes played a significant role in developing the manpower.
The BB guidelines said every bank would have to appoint a high official as a chief of their training centre. The chief will be dedicated fulltime for the institute and he/she could be appointed on contractual basis.
The banks will set the number of faculty members of their training centres in accordance with their manpower.
The banks will have to keep at least two class rooms, one computer lab and one dining hall in their training institutes. The banks will have to provide computers with internet connection and projectors in the class rooms.
The centres will make training need assessment on regular basis and will have to frame the training calendar for the next year within December of every year.
Internal resource persons of the banks will conduct the session of their training centre.
The BB circular said the board of directors of the banks would have to approve the policies for operating their training institutes.
