The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Wednesday denied that any security concerns were raised regarding any venues for the forthcoming home series against Sri Lanka.
In a rejoinder to a New Age report titled ‘SL says “no” to Sylhet’ on Wednesday, the acting chief executive officer of the BCB, Nizamuddin Chowdhury, said: ‘Security plan covering all 3 [proposed] venues was submitted to Sri Lanka Cricket which was acknowledged and confirmed as a comprehensive plan by the SLC.’
While the BCB claimed that the report lacked authenticity as it did not mention the source, New Age can confirm that it published the news only after proper verification from a relevant authority. Asked by New Age, the BCB chief executive also did not deny the Sri Lankan reservation about the Sylhet venue.
