The Bangladesh Cricket Board began a two-day long specialist skill training programme for the coaches from different corners of the country in order to introduce them to the modern coaching method, said BCB officials on Wednesday. The programme was organised by the BCB’s game development committee to see the development made by district coaches and further asked them to follow the new monitoring system introduced by them [BCB], which will help them get an overall knowledge of country’s cricket.
‘The district coaches were asked to update the divisional coaches on their progress twice a month through an extensive report,’ BCB’s game development committee chairman Khaled Mahmud told New Age on Wednesday.
‘The divisional coaches will then forward those reports along with their monthly activities to our game development committee headquarters at the SBNS. So, maintaining this kind of communication process is required for the improvement of our cricket,’ he added.
A total of 47 coaches attended the course which included all the BCB’s divisional coaches apart from Rajshahi as the division’s coach Shahnewaz Shahid missed the programme due to illness.
Meanwhile, BCB’s game development committee manager Nazmul Abedin said they are planning to hold these kinds of programmes on a regular basis.
‘They seem very responsive now but we need to make sure that they are following our guidelines to get the best output from their respective areas.’
‘The more they attend these courses, the better they will develop themselves as professional coaches,’ said Nazmul.
