The Bangladesh Cricket Board is planning to resume the money-spinning Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 competition in December, said an official on Saturday.
The BPL governing council members on Saturday sat in a meeting at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium to discuss the probable date for the competition that could not be held after two editions due to some controversies.
‘We are trying to resume the tournament in December,’ Afzalur Rahman Sinha, BPL’s governing council chairman, told reporters at the SBNS after the meeting.
‘There is a slot in our calendar during that time. We will discuss it in the next board meeting on August 26,’ said Afzalur.
Bangladesh are scheduled to face Zimbabwe in a Test series at home in early November before they start their preparations for the World Cup 2015.
The Tigers are supposed to play a home series against Pakistan in January.
However, the officials said they are planning to hold the series after the World Cup, opening a big widow for domestic cricket before the showpiece event.
