Two of the four employees of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, who were supposed to receive a show-cause letter for their reported connections with the rival group of organisers, have been sacked finally.
Assistant accounts manager Syed Abul Kashem and assistant manager of the indoor and gymnasium Abdul Mazid, received their termination letters on Saturday, said the officials.
Earlier at a meeting, the BCB ad hoc committee identified the duo along cook Yusuf and driver Sayed as traitors and decided to serve them with show-cause notices.
‘I have received my termination letter but I am not sure what my real fault is,’ Majzd told New Age on Saturday.
‘There was no specific reason given in the termination letter, but I have been asked me to leave the office on August 31,’ Mazid added.
It was learnt that the four employees got themselves into trouble by showing loyalty to former BCB director Dewan Shafiul Arefin Tutul, who is leading the rival group of ad hoc committee members.
Accounts assistant Kashem and driver Sayed attended an iftar party hosted by a former curator, known to be very close to Tutul. Yusuf cooked the food for the occasion.
Mazid was photographed with former BCB president Saber Hossain Chowdhury during his recent iftar party.
