The Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan on Saturday said they will introduce a Standard Operating Procedure to remove anomalies in issuing tickets and accreditation cards during the international series. There are widespread allegations about BCB’s distribution of tickets during international series as fans often accused the board that only handful amount of tickets are given to them.
Reports suggested that the BCB also issues accreditation cards indiscriminately from director’s personal staff to fake standing committee members.
Nazmul admitted that they have to issue certain per cent of tickets complimentary but insisted that stakeholders also need to buy tickets from the BCB directly.
‘We have to give tickets to many stakeholders. They also had to buy tickets,’ Nazmul said.
‘In the past we had to give a large portion of tickets complimentary. Now it has been reduced, we don’t need to give tickets now to all Members of Parliament and ministries. Ticket issuance to political leaders has also come down to zero level.’
Regarding tickets and accreditation card Nazmul said there is no standard procedure which leads to some confusion.
‘We don’t have any Standard Operating Procedure for tickets and accreditation card. We are thinking of introducing it. Hopefully it will remove all confusions. We are also thinking of making ticket selling process online to reduce the hassle of fans,’ he said.
