The Bangladesh Cricket Board has changed their plan of rectifying off-spinner Sohag Gazi’s bowling action and opted to engage national team’s spin bowling coach Ruwan Kalpage instead of sending him to Malaysia. Sohag was supposed to fly to Malaysia for remodelling his action under supervision of coach Mohammad Salahuddin, but the former national fielding coach said that he was unable to help because of other commitment.
Sohag met Kalpage on Wednesday after knowing his present status and had a very long discussion regarding his next course of action.
A BCB official said that the rectification process of his bowling action can be started in Khulna during the second Test between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe next week.
The International Cricket Council banned Sohag from bowling in international cricket after he was found to have extended his arm beyond the maximum permissible 15 degrees during a test in UK.
