ATM Waziullah, chairman of Kobeda Group of Companies, has been elected president of Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI) for 2010-2012, according to a statement.
The former president of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry takes over from Shahedul Islam Helal.
The election of the chamber’s office-bearers and directors was held recently, BCI said.
Md Shamsur Rahman, managing director of Bay Group, and Md Jahangir Alam, chairman and managing director of Jahangir Nagar Hospital Ltd, have been elected senior vice-president, and vice-president respectively.
All the office-bearers and directors have been elected uncontested, the statement said.
