Bangladesh Council for Scientific and Industrial Research held a 3-day science fair on its Dhaka campus on Monday.
The fair, with slogan ‘in search of young scientists,’ was inaugurated by science and information and communication state minister Yafesh Osman as the chief guest while secretary Abdur Rab Hawladar, as a special guest, joined the inaugural ceremony that was presided over by BCSIR president SM Emamul Haque.
The speakers said this year science fairs are holding on BCSIR’s Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi and Jaipurhat Campuses.
A total of 28 schools, colleges and science clubs are participating in the fair with 108 projects.
Participants, divided into three age groups, will compete for the best award in the fair, the speakers said.
The juvenile scientists are displaying their optimum projects that include power generation using biogas and solar power and Wi-Fi controlling system.
One of the BCSIR official said the fair will remain open for visitors from 10:00am to 8:00pm up to its ending on January 26.
