The much talked-about election of the Bangladesh Hockey Federation will be held on July 27 and the National Sports Council declared the election schedules on Sunday.
The preliminary voters list will be published on Tuesday and the objections will be received on June 5 and 6. The hearing of the objections will be held on June 9 and 10 and the final list of councillors will be revealed on June 12.
The aspiring candidates will have to collect the nomination form on June 13 and submit it on June 16. The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on June 17 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is June 19. The election commission will announce the final list of candidates on June 20 and they will fight for 28 posts on July 27.
Meanwhile, Sajed A A Adel, a senior vice-president candidate of the forthcoming election announced his resignation from the vice president post of the present ad-hoc committee of BHF on Sunday following five officials including two vice presidents, who resigned from their posts on previous day.
Adel, who was led the tournament committee and selection committee of BHF, resigned from his post due to overlooked the protest of top clubs against National Sports Council’s decision to nominate five councilors.
`NSC nominated five councilors who are all from Abahani Limited. The top clubs has protest to the BHF President Air Marshal Enamul Bari against NSC’s decision but the demand was overlooked,’ said Adel, who was nominated councilor by the Mohammedan Sporting Club.
`I asked to Wing Commander Rafiul Haque, representative of BHF President about the progress of club’s demand but he had not give me a clear answer so that I decided to reign from BHF committee,’ he added.
Adel also demands to withdraw Rafiul Haque from the representative post of the BHF president.
