A tripartite agreement between the Bangladesh Hockey Federation, First Security Islamic Bank and ATN Bangla will be signed today for the purpose of
organising a nationwide school hockey tournament.
The Tk two crore deal will be the biggest ever financial agreement in the history of Bangladesh hockey.
Wing Commander Rafiul Haque, representative of BHF president Air Marshal Enamul Bari, confirmed the deal on Tuesday.
The previous highest financial contract was signed between the BHF and Janata Bank Limited, an agreement of Tk 90 lakh and 44 thousand for the recruitment of a foreign coach for the national team.
‘We confirmed the sponsors a few days ago after a long discussion and have
decided to sign the deal tomorrow [Wednesday],’ said Rafiul on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Walton and ATN Bangla have also expressed their desire to sponsor the national team in the forthcoming Asia Cup but the BHF is holing out for more sponsorship money than these two organisations are willing to provide, informed Rafiul Haque.
The Asia Cup is scheduled to take place in Malaysia next month.
