Popular TV actress Bipasha Hayat’s 10-day solo painting exhibition titled ‘The Journey Within’ will begin today at the Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts in the city’s Dhanmondi area.
Bipasha’s father noted TV actor and director Abul Hayat will inaugurate the exhibition as chief guest, while renowned artist Rafiqun Nabi and art critic Dr Syed Manzoorul Islam will be present as special guests on the occasion.
A total of 68 artworks of Bipasha Hayat will put on display in the exhibition.
This was disclosed at a press conference at the Bengal Shilpalaya in the city yesterday where besides Bipasha, noted artist and cartoonist Shishir Bhattacharya, Director of the gallery Subir Chowdhury, Sarwar Jahan Shanto spoke.
Bipasha was born in Dhaka on March 23, 1971. She did her MFA in 1998 from the Institute of Fine Arts of Dhaka University. She has participated in many group exhibitions including an exhibition celebrating Rabindranath Tagore’s 150th birth anniversary this year.
Bipasha’s career in acting in two films on the Liberation War, ‘Aguner Parashmoni’ and ‘Joyjatra;’ her role in ‘Aguner Parashmoni’ begged her the Best Actress National Award. Other important awards include the Bachshash Puroskar, Onnodin-Impress Telefilm Award, Meril-Prothom Alo Award, UNESCO, Ananya, Bhorer Kagoj and Jai Jai Din awards. Alongside acting, Bipasha has written over 40 screenplays and a book titled ‘Hridoy Rajje.’
The exhibition will end on November 3 and the gallery remains open for all from 12:00pm to 8:00pm.
