Some 220 different species of birds were seized from the capital’s Mirpur on Wednesday.
Wildlife crime control unit of the Bangladesh forest department seized the birds during a drive at Mirpur section 13. The seized birds include tota, tia and munia, said the unit press release.
Wildlife crime control unit inspector Sohel Rana said that they have released all the birds in Gazipur Bangabandhu Safari Park.
Birds worth nearly Tk 1 lakh were brought from outside the capital for smuggling out of the
country.
