A 15-member New Zealand cricket team, led by all-rounder Daniel Vettori, will reach Dhaka today to play a five-match one-day international series against the hosts starting from October 5.
The series, fourth between Bangladesh and New Zealand in the last four years, which originally had two Tests and three-ODIs, will be followed by two warm-up matches.
The Black Caps, who will land at 10:40pm on a Singapore Airlines flight, will miss the services of experienced Scot Styris, who was ruled out due to injury, while Martin Guptill was dropped for lack of form for the series, so crucial for the tourists ahead of the World Cup.
The Kiwis have included uncapped Canterbury fast bowler Hamish Bennett, who had a very good domestic season behind him and was recently dubbed ‘exciting’ by coach Mark Greatbatch.
New Zealand squad: Daniel Vettori (captain), Hamish Bennett, Grant Elliott, Brendon McCullum (wk), Nathan McCullum, Andy McKay, Kyle Mills, Jesse Ryder, Aaron Redmond, Tim Southee, Shanan Stewart, Ross Taylor, Daryl Tuffey, BJ Watling, Kane Williamson.
