On Monday, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the secretary general of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, announced the party’s candidates for 237 constituencies in the upcoming national elections.
The spotlight was especially on the nominations of former prime minister Khaleda Zia and her son, Tarique Rahman.
Khaleda Zia, who serves as the party’s chairperson, will be contesting in three constituencies: Dinajpur-3, Feni-1, and Bogura-7.
Meanwhile, Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of the BNP, is gearing up to run for Bogura-6.
These announcements were made during a press conference at the BNP’s office in Gulshan, Dhaka.
Fakhrul Islam Alamgir also shared the complete list of candidates during this event.

BNP candidates for 237 seats in the Bangladesh National Polls 2026 are now available.
The party noted that the remaining 63 constituencies will be revealed after discussions with their electoral alliance partners.
